The peaceful atmosphere in Ayegunle Bunu community in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State was altered after the invasion of the community by armed bandits.
The Guardian learnt that a member of the community whose identity cannot be ascertained immediately was killed during the raid while a man, his wife and 30 others were abducted at gunpoint.
The gunmen also lay ambush on the highway and successfully intercepted commercial vehicles and abducted all the passangers.
At press time, it was not clear the numbers residents and travellers abducted during the attack.
The attack which was reportedly carried out at about 2:25 a.m also left some residents injured.
The Kogi state Police command was not handy to comment on the attack and confirm the casualties as the Police public relations officer ASP Oyiza Saliu could not be accssed on phone for confirmation at press time.
