The Minister for Sports and Recreation in Ghana, Hon. Kofi Adams has hinted that Blacks Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz will drop two players from the goalkeeping department to make up his final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana ahead of their international friendly game against Wales, which is also serving as their pre-world cup preparation game, announced a 28-man squad to begin camping in Cardiff, UK.

According to the spokesman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante-Twum the squad confirmed will have no addition as the technical team will only select their final squad from the list with no one joining again. And speaking on Joy TV, Member of Parliament Hon. Kofi Adams has disclosed that, the two players to be dropped from the final Black Stars list will come from the goalkeeping department and not an outfield player.

The Minister also confirmed that, an amount of $100,000 has been agreed as appearance fee for the Black Stars at the 2026 Mundial set to kickoff next month.

“The appearance fee for the Black Stars players has been pegged at $100,000 per player”

“The cut of the Black Stars squad from 28 to 26 is likely to come from the goalkeeping unit. They will surely take a cut.”

Meanwhile, the four goalkeepers invited are, Solomon Agbasi, Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang.

Ghana is heading to their fifth FIFA World Cup tournament and expected to excel with Carlos Queiroz and his constituted technical team at the tournament, following their poor show during the last edition.

The Black Stars is housed in Group L and will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17, before taking on England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
