Ghana Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku is expected to miss out on Ghana’s final 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup due to injury.
The centre-back suffered a knock during Spartak Moscow’s Russian Cup final against FC Krasnodar last week and has been unable to return to full fitness, which is a huge concerns since reporting to the Black Stars camp.
With Djiku likely to be ruled out of the tournament, a vacancy could open up in Ghana’s defensive unit.
The dependable defender’s fate will be determined latest by Monday night after Black Stars final training in Cardiff, ahead of Wales international friendly game on June 02, 2026.
