The Black Stars have stepped up preparations for their international friendly against Wales, with nine players taking part in a training session under head coach Carlos Queiroz in Cardiff.
According to Ghanaian-UK based journalist Rahman Osman, among the players present were experienced forward Jordan Ayew, winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, defender Gideon Mensah, centre-back Jerome Opoku, right-back Marvin Senaya, and defender Alidu Seidu.
The session marked the beginning of Ghana’s preparations for the June 2 friendly, which forms part of the team’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
While training has commenced, attention is also turning to the much-anticipated announcement of Ghana’s final World Cup squad.
Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku recently confirmed that the Black Stars’ final squad will be unveiled on June 1, the same day FIFA’s deadline for the submission of final 26-man squads expires.
The delay in announcing the squad has heightened speculation over which players will make the final cut, with Carlos Queiroz and his technical team still assessing options ahead of the tournament.
Several players involved in recent friendlies against Mexico are expected to be fighting for places as Ghana finalises its roster for the global showpiece.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group C of the World Cup alongside England, Croatia and Panama, with Queiroz aiming to assemble a squad capable of guiding Ghana beyond the group stage for the first time since 2010.
