The United States (US) President, Donald Trump, has authorised the release of hundreds of classified files on suspected sightings of aliens — Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) — in different parts of the world.
The US Department of Defence (DOD) on Friday, May 22, 2026, released the second batch of the UFO files, having released the first batch on May 8, 2026.
According to Reuters, one of the 222 files released on Friday contains 116 pages of documentation relating to a series of reported sightings and investigations in a top-secret facility in Sandia, New Mexico, from 1948 to 1950.
The files also contain captured sightings of peculiar aircraft — “orbs”, “discs”, and “fireballs” — flying through the air by the US military in different parts of the world.
One of the videos showed a black orb flying around in Syria in 2021, which US intelligence agencies say cannot be explained.
Another video showed an inverted teardrop aircraft over the skies of the United Arab Emirates in June 2024.
A video also showed what is described as a small and circular aircraft flying near the surface of the ocean towards land in Greece.
