
The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) has been officially named the Media Partner for the upcoming East African Broadcasters Convention 2026 (EAB26), organised by Broadcast Media Africa in association with the Association of Professional Broadcasters (APB).
This major industry convention, taking place from May 26 – 28, 2026, at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, aims to bring together key players from the broadcasting industry to discuss the future of media in the region.
According to a statement from the organisers, in Kenya, KBC and APB solidified their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance collaboration within the broadcasting sector. The MOU was executed by Agnes Kalekye, Managing Director of KBC, and Tabitha Mutemi, OGW and Chairperson of APB, with the ceremony overseen by APB Secretary Toepista Nabusoba.
EAB26 promises to be a unique platform that fosters dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing traditional broadcasting amid the rapid advancement of digital technology. By bridging the gap between traditional broadcasting practices and the fast-paced digital realm, the convention aims to secure the competitiveness and cultural resonance of East African media on a global scale.
