Mahatma Otoo hints at emotional Hearts of Oak return

Former Accra Hearts of Oak SC striker Mahatma Otoo has revealed that the Phobians would be his first choice should he decide to play in the Ghana Premier League again.

The experienced forward reflected on his previous journey with the club, recalling how he once left Hearts on loan to Espérance Sportive de Tunis before eventually returning.

“I’ve done it before. I played for Hearts of Oak then left on loan to Esperance before coming back to Hearts of Oak. So I’ve done it before,” he told ghanasportspage.

Mahatma Otoo also praised Hearts of Oak for the role the club played in shaping his career, insisting the club remains close to his heart.

“Hearts of Oak is a big club that if you play well, you can get equally good teams coming for you,” he added.

The former Black Stars forward stressed that if circumstances ever lead him back to the domestic league, Hearts would always take priority ahead of any other Ghanaian club.

“So if I happen to be in Ghana and would have to play for a Ghanaian club, obviously, it will be Hearts of Oak. That is where the heart is,” he stated.

“They made me who I am. It’s them first before any other club in the GPL.”

Otoo remains one of the notable former Hearts players admired by supporters for his contributions during his time with the club, where he established himself as one of the top forwards in the league before moving abroad.

The 34-year-old last played for Balıkesirspor in Turkey in 2022.
