Content creator and streamer Carter Efe has opened up on his relationship with Afrobeats star Wizkid.
Speaking during an interview with BBC, Efe said he has deep love and admiration for the singer but feels the connection has not been mutual.
Naija News reports that Efe explained that he respects Wizkid’s music and creative talent, noting that he loves his craft, style, and sound.
However, he added that his issue is with Wizkid’s personality, saying he has shown love to the singer but has not received the same response in return.
He said: “My relationship with him? I love Wizkid. I won’t lie. I love Wizkid. I love his craft, man. But I have issues with his personality. I showed that guy love, he didn’t show me love. But I still love his music and style.”
His comments come amid ongoing conversations around his viral song “Machala,” a 2022 release that was created as a tribute to Wizkid.
Carter Efe had previously explained that the song was born out of genuine admiration for Wizkid and was not initially motivated by money or fame.
Despite the popularity of the tribute song, Wizkid has not publicly acknowledged Carter Efe or “Machala” in any direct or official way.
