The Ghana Comedy Awards has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Albert Bondah as its new Media and Public Relations Manager ahead of the 2026 edition of the prestigious awards scheme.
In a press release issued on May 18, 2026, the organizers described the appointment as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the scheme’s media and communications efforts while increasing audience engagement and visibility for Ghanaian comedy on both local and international platforms.
According to the statement, the appointment comes at a crucial moment as the Ghana Comedy Awards prepares to celebrate its sixth edition, marking three years under the Comedy and Poetry Awards banner and another three years since its rebranding to Ghana Comedy Awards.
The organizers highlighted Mr. Bondah’s vast experience in the media and entertainment industry, stating that his credibility, industry knowledge, and contributions to comedy promotion in Ghana make him a suitable choice for the role.
Albert Bondah is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and has held several notable positions within Ghana’s entertainment and media landscape. His impressive portfolio includes serving as Road Manager for the Central Music Awards, Media Relations Officer for African Arts Network, Parrot Mouth Productions, PB Entertainment, Keche Global, and Fiifi Coleman Productions. He has also worked as Project Lead for 2Cute Entertainment.
The Ghana Comedy Awards noted that his appointment is expected to deepen public engagement with the awards scheme and enhance its growth in the coming years.
The statement further described the Ghana Comedy Awards, produced by Creative Republic, as Ghana’s biggest annual comedy awards platform dedicated to celebrating comedians, industry stakeholders, and promoting Ghanaian talent to the world.
Organizers also revealed that the 2026 Ghana Comedy Awards is scheduled to take place on August 1, 2026, promising audiences a grand experience of comedy made in Ghana.
Management of the scheme called on comedians, media practitioners, stakeholders, and the general public to support Albert Bondah in his new role as he leads the Media and Public Relations Office of the awards scheme.
