Viewers won’t be able to vote until the final where they can choose their winner
As the eliminations of the 12 stars looms, viewers have been asking how the I’m a Celebrity South Africa contestants can be eliminated as the series isn’t filmed live.
It’s now the second week in South Africa and the 12 celebrities have been battling it out to ensure that they win a delicious meal instead of the usual rice and beans.
However, Ant and Dec threw a spanner in the works as they introduced two Kings Harry Redknapp and Jimmy Bullard, making them split the camp in two – only to be separated by a thin wall.

Since then, the stars have been competing in various challenges for the chance to win a bush banquet and a safari. It’s been causing some tension among campmates, but in a sneak peek it was revealed that the first elimination is on the horizon.
How are stars eliminated?
Unlike the Australian main series which is broadcast live each night with an 11-hour time difference, the South African series was pre-recorded last year, thought to be in September.
Instead of the public voting to eliminate the celebrities, the campmates themselves will choose who to bid farewell to after various tough challenges are completed.
Eliminations are determined by how well each of the stars have done on the challenges and various bushtucker trials. It is then that Ant and Dec will reveal the bottom two stars.
Once the bottom two has been decided, it’s then up to the campmates themselves over who will leave the competition ahead of the final episode.
However, unlike the first I’m A Celebrity South Africs in 2023, the public will get to have their say with who wins. On Friday, April 24, the contestants will be live in a UK studio as the public get to have their say on who should be crowned the “ultimate legend” out of the remaining campmates.
Co-host Dec Donnelly teased: “Myleene Klass won it in South Africa last time, doing the best final head to head, Bushtucker trial thing we’ve ever seen. So we thought we want to leave it up to the public, but to get to that point, to be a finalist, we’ve made it tougher than ever”.
I’m a Celebrity South Africa airs on weeknights at 9pm on ITV1 and is also available to stream on ITVX.
