Kilifi MP Reveals Crucial Info About Mackenzie’s Followers, Reveal What They Do When They See Police

Kilifi North Member of Parliament Owen Baya has opened up about the ongoing search and rescue operations going on in Shakahola, Kilifi county. While speaking during an interview, the legislator revealed that some of cult leader Paul Mackenzie’s followers were still trapped in the thickets of Shakahola forest. The MP noted that despite government’s efforts to rescue people from the forest, a number of Mackenzie’s followers were still fasting in the forest.

Shakahola forest which lies in an 800 acre piece of land in Kilifi has been a hotspot zone in the recent months following a recovery of mass graves in the area. A number of people believed to be followers of self proclaimed preacher Paul Mackenzie have been rescued with dead bodies exhumed from the forest.

Baya further claimed that the followers who are still in hiding inside the forest are running away from the police. Mackenzie was arrested two months ago over claims of radicalisation and brainwashing his followers into fasting to death.
