American actress Gabrielle Union has once again fallen head over heels for South Africa, declaring that she “left my heart in South Africa” after soaking up the sights, flavours and beauty of the Mother City.
The “Bring It On” star gave fans a glimpse into her latest South African adventure through an Instagram post, sharing some of the moments that made the trip special.
From wine tasting and shopping local fashion to beach visits and surprise viral moments, Union appeared to fully embrace everything Cape Town has to offer.
One of her highlights was a visit to Klein Goederust Boutique Winery, which she described as the only Black-owned winery in Cape Town.
Sharing snaps from the estate, she praised the owners and wrote that they had “become family to us”, giving followers a glimpse into the warm connections she made during her stay.
Union also could not resist indulging in some retail therapy while in the city. She visited AKJP Studio, a fashion store known for showcasing local designers.
“I have a problem,” she joked in one clip after initially saying she planned to pick up only “one or two things”.
The actress also teased that she was in the country filming a mystery project. While she kept details under wraps, she shared a selfie with fellow actor Michael Ealy, hinting that something exciting may be in the works.
Of course, no visit to South Africa would be complete without taking in the country’s natural beauty. Union shared clips of breathtaking sunsets, scenic beaches and even a penguin sighting that appeared to take place at Boulders Beach.
The star might have spent some time at the Mount Nelson Hotel, where renowned South African designer Thebe Magugu has curated a suite and concept store with the hotel.
Her trip has already sparked plenty of attention online. Just days ago, Union unexpectedly went viral after making a surprise appearance in a Cape Town karaoke video.
Local resident Beauty Mangali posted a TikTok clip showing herself and friends singing We Belong Together by Mariah Carey during a night out at Nkula Cocktail & Wine Boutique when Union casually appeared in the background, singing along.
Fans were stunned by the unexpected cameo, with many praising how relaxed and down-to-earth the Hollywood star seemed while enjoying a night out in the city.
This is not Union’s first visit to South Africa. Back in 2022, she visited the country for the launch of her haircare range and made an appearance at Sandton City alongside her husband, former NBA star Dwyane Wade.
Judging by her latest posts, it is clear South Africa continues to hold a special place in her heart.
