Nigerian rapper Ice Prince Zamani has opened up about his struggle with addiction and what it cost him.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Black Box podcast, he disclosed that smoking heavily cost him a fortune before he decided to quit.
According to Ice Prince, he spent about ₦340 million on weed between 2020 and 2026 from just one dealer in Lagos.
The rapper said the amount did not include what he spent through other suppliers in Abuja, Jos, Ghana and London.
He said, “From 2020 to 2026, I have spent ₦340 million on weed from just one dealer alone, not to even mention my other dealers from Abuja, Ghana, Jos, and London.
“This is just one dealer, who lives close to me in Lagos.”
Ice Prince said he later quit smoking and alcohol as part of his weight loss and self-discovery journey.
The rapper also disclosed that he has been celibate for some time, adding that the lifestyle changes were part of a wider personal reset.
Meanwhile, Ice Prince, has dismissed insinuations of using drugs for his weight loss.
Naija News reports that Ice Prince, in a recent interview with The Beat FM Lagos, explained that his weight loss was organic, stressing that he did not use Ozempic or any other drug during the process.
The Oleku hitmaker also hinted at retirement from the music industry, revealing that his forthcoming album would be his last.
Speaking about marriage, the music star disclosed that he plans to settle down once he turns 40.
He said, “I didn’t use Ozempic for my weight loss. I have never used drugs or anything like that before. Honestly, I feel like this album I am about to drop will be my last album ever. I am going to be 40 years in about 3 years. Hopefully, when I am 40, I intend to get married.”
Ice Prince, however, said he is not currently searching for a partner, adding that he is “chasing goals at the moment.”
