Ghana welcomed 96,000 passenger arrivals in March 2026, reflecting sustained activity in the country’s travel and aviation sector despite global economic headwinds.
The latest figures, captured in the Bank of Ghana’s Summary of Economic and Financial Charts, highlight continued demand for travel into the country and reinforce Ghana’s growing profile as a regional hub for business travel, conferences, tourism, and investment‑related activity.
The March data also points to steady recovery across the aviation and hospitality industries, with rising passenger traffic expected to boost hotels, transport operators, restaurants, and other tourism‑linked businesses.
Airlines continue to expand connectivity into Accra and other parts of the sub‑region, a trend that could further strengthen confidence in Ghana’s services sector.
The strong inflows come as several African countries intensify efforts to attract international travellers and position themselves as preferred commercial and tourism hubs.
Industry stakeholders, however, are expected to keep a close eye on airport capacity, infrastructure efficiency, and travel facilitation measures, especially as competition for passenger traffic across the region continues to rise.
