Arrested Arsenal Fans In Uganda Calls On Paul Kagame To Sponsor Them To Watch Football In London

You will recall that some Arsenal fans were earlier this week arrested in Uganda following an open celebration of their club’s famous win over Manchester United.

The celebrants who were later freed by Uganda Police Force Assistant Inspector General of Police Asan Kasingye, are now calling on Rwanda’s president, Paul Kagame who is a staunch supporter of the club to sponsor them to London to experience a football match at the Emirates.

They indicated that they could have placed the same demand before President Museveni; however, they decided to go for President Kagame for two reasons. First is to prevent unnecessary political interpretations; second is to feed into the shared interest they have with Kagame as he equally supports Arsenal.

The president is yet to respond to the call but the request is already generating interesting conversation. To some, they need to channel the same energy into supporting local teams. What do you think about their request?
