NPP ready to rescue Ghanaians from NDC – Oda MP

The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has stated that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has failed to deliver on its campaign promises, thereby worsening the plight of Ghanaians.

He stated that the ruling party, while in opposition, made several claims that the country was facing economic hardships and promised to perform better if elected. However, the MP says the government has failed the people and, when citizens speak out or complain, they are harassed, arrested, and intimidated

Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the lawmaker indicated that Ghanaians have regretted voting for the NDC because they were misled. He assured the public that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will return to government under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to deliver superior leadership, economic stability, and accountable governance.

“I want to assure Ghanaians that the next NPP government will do much better when we resume power. Whenever you are voted out of power and in opposition, you use the opportunity to learn from past mistakes, correct them, and return to do much better. Going into opposition is not something we wanted, but it is an opportunity for us to learn from our mistakes,” he said.

He added, “We had the belief that the NDC would have done better so that when we return, we will continue from where they stopped. However, they failed in delivering on what they promised the people of Ghana.

“But I want to assure them that we will return and do much better. 2028 will come soon, and so we will ask Ghanaians to be patient. The thievery, unprecedented levels of corruption, the arrest, intimidation, and harassment of critics of this government are alarming. They don’t want Ghanaians to criticise them, but Ghanaians should have patience and hope that a new NPP government will do much better.”
