Ambassador Ramalan seeks Nigeria-China Collaboration in fashion

Nigerian fashion entrepreneur and business executive Ambassador Rotimi Ramalan has concluded a strategic 18-day business and industrial tour across China aimed at strengthening partnerships in fashion production, textile sourcing, manufacturing technology, and renewable energy collaboration.

The visit formed part of the international expansion vision of his fashion brand, RNR Global Emporium, as he explored opportunities capable of improving production quality, technology transfer, and industrial collaboration between Nigeria and China.

Speaking during the tour, Ambassador Ramalan emphasized the growing need for African fashion brands to establish direct international manufacturing relationships capable of enhancing quality production and global competitiveness.

According to him, the engagement with leading Chinese manufacturers and industrial players provided valuable insight into modern production systems, advanced textile technologies and sustainable manufacturing practices that could transform Nigeria’s fashion and creative industry.

He noted that the tour also created opportunities for strategic partnerships that would support skills development, job creation and knowledge exchange for young entrepreneurs and fashion professionals in Nigeria.

Ambassador Ramalan further explained that discussions during the visit extended beyond fashion and textiles to include renewable energy solutions and industrial innovation capable of supporting local manufacturing growth.

He expressed optimism that the relationships established during the 18-day tour would pave the way for future investments, improved production capacity and stronger trade cooperation between Nigerian businesses and their Chinese counterparts, while positioning RNR Global Emporium for greater international visibility and market expansion.

The Nigerian entrepreneur also embarked on a two-hour flight to Zhuji alongside the Forever Sole African distributor from Nigeria, where they visited the production facility of Forever electric monogram machines.

The visit exposed the delegation to more than 25 industrial embroidery and monogram machines used in advanced garment customization and mass production.

Speaking after the factory tour, Ambassador Ramalan highlighted the importance of industrial cooperation between Nigeria and China, noting that technology exchange and manufacturing partnerships remain essential to the future growth of Africa’s fashion and textile industry.

“We are looking beyond fashion retailing alone. The goal is to build stronger manufacturing capacity, create employment opportunities, and establish sustainable industrial partnerships that can benefit both nations,” he stated.

The business tour also included a visit to the popular Sijiqing Silk Market, where discussions focused on premium silk fabrics, textile innovation, and future partnership opportunities within the luxury fashion sector.

Ambassador Ramalan noted that the exposure to authentic silk production and fabric finishing processes provided valuable insight into global luxury textile standards.

Another major highlight of the trip was a guided tour of a high-capacity production warehouse where the Nigerian businessman witnessed advanced industrial systems capable of producing thousands of garments within a short period through automated manufacturing processes.

He described the experience as a major eye-opener on the future of large-scale fashion production and industrial efficiency.

The delegation further visited the renowned Kinbo Fashion Accessories Market, where they explored a wide range of fashion accessories including decorative buttons, Swarovski stones, customized labels, branded hangers, brooches, and luxury garment finishing materials.
