The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) brought together finance professionals, students and stakeholders at the University of Ghana on Friday, May 15, 2026, for its second annual Health Walk, an event that has now become a fixture on the institute’s Ghana calendar.
Participants completed a 5km walk across the university campus before taking part in a guided aerobics session. The event drew CIMA members, Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) students, and accounting and finance students, positioning wellbeing alongside professional development as twin priorities for the institute in Ghana.
The occasion also served as an engagement platform for CIMA’s continental and global programmes. These included Engage365, a digital community connecting members and students across the profession, ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes, and ENGAGE Africa 2026, a conference scheduled for Cape Town, South Africa from October 28 to 30.
“The Health Walk continues to show the value of creating spaces where our members, students and partners can connect beyond the workplace,” said Paul Aninakwah, ACMA, CGMA, Country Director for Ghana at CIMA.
The event reflects a broader push by professional bodies in Ghana to address member wellbeing directly, particularly as finance professionals navigate accelerating regulatory change and increasing business complexity. CIMA, founded in 1919, represents members and candidates across more than 150 countries and is a founding body of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA).
