Accra, April 22, GNA – Police at Odumase-Krobo have arrested a 36-year-old woman for allegedly abducting a nine-year-old girl at Agormanya Zongo.

A press release issued by the Odumase-Krobo District Police Command in the Eastern Region said Police received a report on April 19, 2026, that the victim had left home and failed to return.

Following investigations and intelligence, officers from the District Command, with support from personnel of the National Investigation Bureau at the Accra International Airport, arrested the suspect, Regina Mamle Tawiah, and rescued the victim.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that suspect was trying to send the victim to Kenya. Meanwhile, the victim has been reunited with her father,” the release said.

The suspect was arraigned before the Odumase-Krobo Circuit Court on April 21, 2026, where she pleaded not guilty and was remanded into Police custody to reappear on May 5, 2026.

The release entreated the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or behaviour to the Police
