Popular Nigerian TikToker, Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has revealed that Nollywood actress cum filmmaker, Funke Akindele, helped him while he was in prison.
Naija News recalls that Peller was arrested in December 2025, after being involved in a deliberate car accident in Lagos State following his breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis.
Reacting to the circumstances that led to the accident, the Federal Road Safety Corps, ordered the arrest and prosecution of Peller for reckless driving.
However, while exchanging pleasantries with Funke Akindele at the premiere of the movie ‘Love Notes,’ Peller stated that the movie star helped secure his release from prison.
Appreciating Funke for her kind gesture, Peller said, “she was the one who helped me when I was in prison. She was the one who helped my life.”
Meanwhile, Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has shared how Funke’s late mother once stepped in to save her children.
Naija News reports that in an Instagram post, Iyabo Ojo spoke about the support she received years ago while raising her children, Festus and Priscilla, remembering how the doctor’s care prevented a potential tragedy.
Iyabo described the late doctor as a remarkable person whose kindness and prayers went beyond her professional role.
She recalled the reassurance and protection Funke’s mother offered during a time of fear and uncertainty, saying that her intervention ensured the safety of her children.
Iyabo also reflected on the continuous guidance and spiritual support she received from the doctor, even during disagreements, noting that she always felt her presence and prayers.
