Cristiano Ronaldo has resumed training at Al Nassr following a brief strike Cristiano Ronaldo has resumed training at Al Nassr following a brief strike

Cristiano Ronaldo has ended his strike at Al Nassr and is set to feature for his side in the Saudi Pro League after a brief absence.

The Portuguese forward was notably left out of Al Nassr’s 1-0 victory over Al Riyadh on Monday, February 2, 2026, with reports suggesting he had gone on strike amid frustration over developments in the transfer window.

The tensions were reportedly linked to Karim Benzema’s proposed move from Al-Ittihad to league leaders Al-Hilal, a transfer that would have strengthened a direct title rival sitting just one point ahead of Al Nassr.

Ronaldo was reportedly unhappy with what he viewed as a chaotic window and a lack of sufficient backing, as competitors moved to reinforce. His absence from matchday duty only fueled talk of unrest within the camp.

However, the player’s grievances were reportedly settled by the club, which included several key measures:

Restoration of Transfer Powers

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, the club’s two sporting directors, Jose Semedo and Simao Coutinho both close allies of Ronaldo had previously been restricted from making player moves, especially during the January transfer window. The club has now reinstated their full authority to handle transfers and strengthen the squad.

Payment of Outstanding Salaries

Reports indicated that Al Nassr had delayed staff salary payments, which infuriated Ronaldo and contributed to his strike. The club has since cleared these outstanding payments.

Assurances on Transfer Strategy

Club officials assured Ronaldo that they would adopt a more proactive approach in the transfer market, targeting top players to compete for trophies and cement his legacy in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Real Madrid star has resumed full training and is expected to feature in Al Nassr’s league game against Al-Fateh on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
