‘Stream Numbers, Strong PR Machine And Money Do Not Make You Best Artist’

Nigerian singer, Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, better known as Jaywon, has cautioned young entertainers against the assumption that they are succeeding more than their predecessors just because they have streams.

Naija News reports that Jaywon, in a post via his Instagram story, noted that streams, a strong PR machine, and money to throw around do not make them the best artists.

Jaywon emphasised that music is about impact, changing minds and touching souls.

He wrote, “The problem with a lot of you youngins and small minds is thinking music is only about numbers. You believe that because you’ve got streams, recognition, a strong PR machine, and money to throw around. That automatically makes you the best artist in the best artist in the world, Lol.

“Music isn’t about numbers. It’s about impact, changing minds and touching souls. That’s why Legends like Bob Marley and Fela still matter. Their music is forever.”

Meanwhile, Jaywon recently weighed in on the drama surrounding Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels’ marriage to businessman Ned Nwoko.

In a post on his Instagram story, Jaywon addressed the broader issues of marriage, wealth, and personal decisions.

The ‘This Year’ crooner warned that choices such as marrying for money, becoming a second wife, or staying in abusive relationships come with consequences.

He emphasised that individuals must take responsibility for the outcomes of their decisions.
