Nigerian actress Lizzy Anjorin has addressed reports claiming she was arrested over defamation of character.
Naija News reports that the rumours began circulating after some sources claimed that Nollywood stars Toyin Abraham, Iyabo Ojo, and Dayo Amusa filed a petition against her, which allegedly led to her arrest.
Popular influencer Esabod shared that Lizzy had been detained at Alagbon Police Station in Lagos and that her bail conditions would be reviewed soon.
Lizzy later took to Instagram to respond to the reports, warning the public to be cautious about believing the claims.
Esabod wrote: “Lizzy Anjorin has been arrested by ??? has been remanded in Alagbon police station in Lagos. Lizzy bail condition will be reviewed from Monday For defamation of character.”
Lizzy wrote “Believe Esabod and Iyabo Ojo at your own risk.”
In other news, Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has reportedly been arrested by the police following a complaint filed by his baby mama, Ashabi Simple.
Naija News reports that the arrest came after weeks of public disagreement between the two, during which they accused each other of different issues on social media.
A video that surfaced online showed the singer struggling as officers tried to take him into custody.
In the clip, Portable was seen shouting and pulling away while people around him attempted to calm him down.
