“Stop Calling Me At Night, No One Chased You From ODM” MP Junet Attacks Sifuna While In Kakamega

National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed has claimed that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and his allies, who have fallen out with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), have been calling him at night seeking a return to the party.

Speaking during a political gathering, Junet challenged the group to make their intentions public and approach the party during the day instead of contacting him privately at night.

The Suna East MP suggested that the calls were an indication that Sifuna and his allies were interested in returning to ODM following their differences with the party’s leadership.

Junet urged the senator and his team to stop the nighttime calls and openly communicate their desire to rejoin the party.

He told them to come forward during the day if they genuinely wanted to return, rather than continuing to contact him privately.

His remarks come amid growing disagreements within ODM over the party’s leadership, political direction and preparations for the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna has been at the centre of the internal divisions following his removal as ODM secretary-general, a position that placed him among the party’s most influential officials.

The dispute has exposed differences between leaders supporting the party’s current leadership and those advocating a different political approach ahead of the next election.

Junet’s claims also raise questions about the possibility of reconciliation among the rival camps as political alignments continue to shift.

However, the alleged calls and their purpose remain claims made by Junet, and Sifuna’s response was not immediately available.

ODM remains a significant player in Kenya’s opposition politics, with its leaders facing the task of managing internal disagreements while determining the party’s strategy for the 2027 presidential contest.
