Gathoni Wamuchomba Goes After Ruto In Fresh Attack After Ditching UDA Party, Details
Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has intensified her criticism of President William Ruto’s administration, a day after announcing her departure from the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Wamuchomba questioned the government’s claims about the availability of milk in the country, pointing to restrictions on milk purchases in supermarkets across Nairobi, Kiambu and Murang’a counties.
In a social media post on Friday, October 9, 2026, the legislator expressed concern over reports that some supermarkets were limiting customers to two packets of milk per purchase.
She challenged the President’s assertion that the country had sufficient milk supplies, questioning why consumers were experiencing difficulties accessing the commodity despite assurances of adequate production.
The MP’s remarks add to her growing criticism of the government’s handling of issues affecting farmers and consumers, particularly in the dairy sector.
Wamuchomba also linked the milk supply challenges to declining production in Githunguri, a constituency known for its dairy farming activities.
She attributed the reduced output to the deaths of cows earlier in the year, which she blamed on a shortage of vaccinations.
The legislator argued that the situation required explanations from the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute (KEVEVAPI), raising concerns about the availability of vaccines needed to protect livestock.
