Bawumia will become President of Ghana in 2029 — Kamal Deen

A Deputy National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kamal Deen Abdulai, has expressed optimism that the party will win the next general election.

He stated that former Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will assume the highest office of the land in 2029.

Speaking on Accra-based Joy News’ AM Show on Thursday, February 12, the NPP spokesperson stressed that with time, disgruntled members of the party will return.

“I must use this platform to congratulate Dr Bawumia again and tell the whole world that looking into the crystal ball, I see him becoming the President of Ghana in 2029. Trust me.

“And on this, I want to challenge anybody who says it will not happen. I’m speaking on authority. I know what I’m talking about,” he said.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s 2024 flagbearer, was elected for the second time in a keenly contested internal election held on Saturday, January 31.

The former Vice President has called on party members to unite and fix internal cracks to enable them recapture power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“So uniting the party and reconciling the party is the number one priority for me. You cannot win power by excluding people, because politics is a game of numbers,” Dr Bawumia emphasised during a meeting with former MPs.

He revealed plans to set up reconciliation committees to begin rebuilding trust and mobilising members ahead of the 2028 elections.
