The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), working with the Ministries of Defence, Finance, and Roads and Highways, has cleared 175.6 kilometres of right-of-way along the proposed Accra-Kumasi Expressway in just 19 weeks.
The exercise forms part of the government’s preparatory works for the major road project and was completed one week ahead of the 20-week schedule set for the operation.
The achievement highlights the engineering capacity of the Ghana Armed Forces and its growing role in supporting the delivery of major national infrastructure projects.
Engineers from the GAF worked alongside officials from the relevant government institutions to clear the right-of-way along the proposed expressway corridor, paving the way for subsequent stages of the project.
The Armed Forces described the milestone as “delivering on mission ahead of schedule,” with the GAF Engineers reaffirming their commitment to engineering excellence and staying “one step ahead.”
The 175.6-kilometre clearance represents a significant step in the preparations for the Accra-Kumasi Expressway, one of Ghana’s key planned road infrastructure projects.
