Accra, Aug. 26, GNA – Ghana’s investment priorities and opportunities across 12 key sectors will be presented to international business audiences, through a new Global Platform video series featuring President John Dramani Mahama, senior public and private sector leaders.

The series, produced by Oxford Business Group (OBG), forms part of efforts to communicate Ghana’s economic direction, sector priorities and investment opportunities to global investors and decision-makers.

A statement issued jointly by the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) said the videos would examine developments and opportunities in agriculture, financial services, information and communication technology, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing and tourism.

Other sectors to be featured included mining, transport, education, utilities and entrepreneurship, identified as central to Ghana’s investment agenda and economic development plans.

It said the initiative was being developed under the patronage of President Mahama, whose participation would provide a national level perspective on Ghana’s investment agenda.

The series would culminate in a documentary bringing together the views of government representatives, sector leaders and private sector stakeholders on Ghana’s economic outlook.

The statement said the videos were being produced following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between OBG and GIPA.

Under the agreement, GIPA would partner with OBG to develop and distribute the Global Platform video series to international audiences.

It said the Global Platform videos provide a format for senior public and private sector figures to

discuss market developments, policy priorities and investment opportunities, like OBG’s flagship annual country reports, “The Report.”

The Ghana series would explore developments in the priority sectors and provide international audiences with information on the opportunities shaping the country’s investment environment.

The content would also be distributed through OBG’s research platform and international financial and media-information networks.

The statement said the agreement built on a relationship between OBG and GIPA that had developed alongside OBG’s research activities in Ghana, where the Group had maintained a presence since 2011.

Mr Simon Madjie, the GIPA Chief Executive Officer, said the collaboration would help Ghana communicate its investment proposition and opportunities across a wide range of sectors to international investors and business leaders.

“Through this series of Global Platform videos, we will highlight the country’s investment priorities, the work of its institutions and the sectors that can support future growth,” he said.

Ms Ramona Tarta, OBG’s Regional Director for West Africa, said the collaboration would build on the Group’s research experience in Ghana for over a decade now, while bringing together insights from public and private sector leaders, to help global audiences understand the developments and opportunities shaping Ghana’s investment environment.

The documentary, which will consolidate the themes explored in the video series, is expected to support GIPA’s ongoing engagement with international investors, institutions, and business partners.
