The Chief of Staff at the Ghana Armed Forces General headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Mensah-Larkai, has described Ghana’s security landscape and outlined measures being implemented to safeguard national borders and maintain regional stability.
He emphasised the importance of sustained international cooperation in confronting evolving and complex security threats, particularly in the West African sub-region.
Air Vice Marshal Mensah-Larkai said this when a delegation of ten students from the United States Air War College (AWC) visited him to undertake a three-day strategic educational tour of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
He briefed them on the longstanding defence cooperation between Ghana and the United States, noting that such engagements strengthen mutual understanding and collaboration.
Led by Colonel Amanda Watkin, the students visited several key military and defence institutions, including the Ghana Navy Headquarters, the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, and the Ministry of Defence.
The visit formed part of the Air War College’s international academic engagement programme, designed to expose students to critical security issues in Ghana and the wider African region.
