A 21-year-old prisoner scheduled for deportation from Britain to Ghana has escaped from custody for the second time in less than a week, according to telegraph.co.uk report.
According to the report, Daniel Boakye fled from police officers guarding him at a hospital in Lewisham, south-east London, on Sunday. The incident occurred just five days after he had escaped from prison officers while receiving treatment at another hospital in Isleworth, west London.
Boakye, a convicted knifepoint robber and drill rapper from Enfield, north London, remains at large.
According to police, he was under guard at University Hospital Lewisham shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday when he made his escape. Officers chased him through the hospital corridors but were unable to detain him before he left the building.
His latest escape follows a similar incident the previous Tuesday at West Middlesex University Hospital, where he fled from prison officers. He was rearrested the next day at an address in Thamesmead, south-east London.
In connection with his earlier escape, police arrested two women aged 20 and 51, a 17-year-old girl, and a 30-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender. All four were later released on bail.
Boakye was sentenced in July 2023 to six years and five months in prison after being convicted as part of a gang that carried out a series of robberies between June 2021 and January 2022.

Alongside Justin Popoola, Nathan Mohalland, and a 17-year-old accomplice who cannot be named for legal reasons, he stole mobile phones at knifepoint and forced victims to reveal their passcodes. The group then used the stolen devices to siphon £115,000 worth of cryptocurrency.
Detectives eventually identified and arrested the gang after they used stolen bank details to order takeaway food to their home addresses.
The Metropolitan Police has launched a review into the circumstances surrounding Boakye’s second escape.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said officers are searching for the 21-year-old, who is described as Black, of medium height and slim build. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket at the time of his escape.
Police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact emergency services or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Home Office reiterated that all foreign national offenders sentenced to prison in the UK are considered for deportation at the earliest opportunity.
The spokesperson added that the government is reforming human rights laws and overhauling the appeals system to increase the pace of deportations.
