President John Dramani Mahama has extended a Valentine’s Day message to the widows of eight individuals who lost their lives on August 6, 2025.
As the world marked Valentine’s Day on Saturday, February 14, the President conveyed warm wishes to the bereaved women, offering comfort and putting smiles on their faces.
In a post shared on his social media platforms, President Mahama accompanied his message with a group photograph of the widows, love imojies and simply wrote: “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Background
The eight individuals lost their lives in a fatal helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, which drew national attention and sparked widespread public sympathy for the affected families. The victims were enroute to a mining event in the Ashanti region when the incident happened.
Since the incident, there have been calls for continued support for the victims’ families, with various individuals and groups expressing solidarity. The President’s Valentine’s Day message is seen as part of efforts to maintain contact with and show compassion toward those directly impacted by the tragedy.
