Accra, Feb. 12, GNA – The Accra Regional Police Command has launched investigations into an alleged arson incident at the Grace Mountain Ministry at Seven Days, Ofankor, in Accra.
The suspect, Kesse Okyerewaa Koranteng, is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
A statement signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, said preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect unlawfully entered the church auditorium with a liquid substance in rubber containers, sprinkled it inside the hall, and set it ablaze with matches, causing a fire outbreak.
Items destroyed include air conditioners, chairs, windows, 10 offering boxes, ceiling materials, electrical cables, and parts of the lighting system.
Police officers who visited the scene retrieved four rubber containers believed to have been used in committing the offence.
The Command assured the public of its commitment to safety and security and urged residents to promptly report any suspicious activities to the Police.
