Bawumia’s Residence Turns Mecca For NPP Loyalists

Dr. Bawumia sandwiched by his lawyer guests

The long list of well-wishers turning up at the Tseado residence of former Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in Accra is not diminishing as the number grows by the day.

The trend has been consistent since his return from the United Kingdom last weekend.

The most prominent of the visits was the one from top lawyers aligned to the NPP, some of them playing prominent roles during the election petition hearing of the ‘you and I were not there’ fame in 2012.

The face of Lawyer Philip Addison, the lead NPP lawyer in the election petition hearing in the group, especially resonated among party faithful and observers of local politics.

“We are here to congratulate you on your victory and to assure you of our unflinching support in the task ahead,” was etched on their smiling countenances as he shook their hands in a spirit of fraternity.

The election of a flagbearer has put paid to the rancorous campaign period in one of the two dominant political parties. The feat, done and bereft of bloodshed as predicted by some naysayers, has set the party on the path of harmony.

Dr. Bawumia, in his many remarks, has expressed appetite for reconciliation and unity, which he himself has embarked upon because, as he said during one of his many post primary election engagements, “victory will come only when there is unity, and so let us come together as members of one party.”

His residence has received both those who supported him and those who stood with the other contenders.

He has already received some contenders at his residence.

Dr. Stephen Amoah, aka Sticka, an outspoken supporter and minder of former Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, has already paid a similar visit, and the pictures of his handshake with a smiling Dr. Bawumia and Hajia Samira Bawumia trended on social media.

As Dr. Bawumia said in his post-victory speech at the NPP headquarters in Accra on January 31, 2026, his victory is the party’s.
