A 62-year-old woman, identified as Baby Abienor, has been killed after she was allegedly attacked with a cutlass by her co-tenant, Hormeku Agbemor, 30, at Twifo Denyase Camp in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region.

The victim’s daughter, Gladys, sustained severe injuries during the attack and is currently receiving treatment at St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m.

The suspect, who resided in the same house as the victims, allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on the two women, inflicting multiple machete wounds.

Baby Abienor died instantly from her injuries. Gladys was initially treated at a nearby CHPS compound but was later referred to St. Francis Xavier Hospital due to the severity of her condition.

The Twifo Praso District Police Command commenced investigations after being notified of the incident. Officers who arrived at the scene found the lifeless body of Baby Abienor with fresh wounds believed to have been inflicted with a cutlass.

The lifeless body of the suspect was also discovered near the scene, bearing signs of a possible lynching by angry residents. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect may have exhibited abnormal behaviour prior to the attack.
