The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) says 27 vehicles and 22 metal containers, together with their contents, were destroyed in a fire at the Sofoline Magazine New Site in Kumasi.
A statement from the GNFS Ashanti Regional Public Relations Office said the cause of the fire was unknown and investigations were underway.
The fire occurred on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
The statement said a combined team from the Bremang and Twedie Fire Stations responded to the incident.
It said the Service received a distress call at 2000 hours, and fire fighters arrived at the scene at 2014 hours.
The fire was brought under control at 2151 hours and fully extinguished at 2246 hours, with no casualties recorded.
The operation was led by Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO) I Kuupuluzie, with support from personnel of the Ghana Police Service.
Mr Eric Assibey, Municipal Chief Executive of the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, was present at the scene.
