The Ghana Police Service has arrested a driver, Charles Adenkule for possession of suspected cocaine valued at GH¢1,032,650.

Information gathered revealed that Charles Adenkule, a Nigerian national based in Ghana, was intercepted at the Kpotame barrier on the Accra-Sogakope highway with the cocaine in a black Liberty Jeep.

The arrest was made when police officials at the barrier stopped him for a general inspection, where the cocaine was uncovered, hidden in the car.

Sources report that upon apprehension, Charles Adenkule allegedly attempted to bribe officers with US$20,000, but was resisted.

The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
