For everyday drivers, the drop in fuel prices mean spending less to fill their tanks For everyday drivers, the drop in fuel prices mean spending less to fill their tanks

Consumers are getting some relief at the pumps as fuel prices dropped at several outlets on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Petrol has fallen from GH¢10.99 to GH¢9.99 per litre, marking a full GH¢1 reduction. Diesel also declined, dropping from GH¢11.96 to GH¢11.21 per litre, a 75-pesewa cut.

The price adjustment, reflected in the latest Ghana Oil Company (GOIL) rates, follows the recent strengthening of the cedi against major trading currencies, particularly the US dollar.

Petrol, diesel and LPG prices expected to fall from January 16

For everyday motorists, the reduction translates into lower refuelling costs and extra disposable income for other needs.

Transport operators are also expected to reflect the relief in their fares, offering some respite to commuters.

New GOIL fuel prices:

SUPER XP: GH¢9.99

DIESEL XP: GH¢11.21

SUPER XP 95: GH¢13.97
