You should’ve rejected Bob Marley’s collaboration like John the Baptist did to lacing Jesus’ shoes — Blakk Rasta to Sarkodie

Blakk Rasta, known for his outspoken nature, has once again stirred controversy with his recent comments directed at Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, suggesting that his career is suffering due to a particular music collaboration.

During an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Blakk Rasta expressed his belief that Sarkodie’s career could have been different if he had declined a feature on the legendary Bob Marley song.

Blakk Rasta specifically referred to the remix of Bob Marley’s iconic track “Stir It Up,” on which Sarkodie was featured.

He argued that the original song was a love letter to Marley’s wife, and Sarkodie’s involvement in the remix positioned him as a mediator between late Marley and his wife.

Blakk Rasta asserted that Sarkodie should have refused the collaboration, suggesting that doing so would have garnered him even more attention and acclaim.

Drawing a comparison to the biblical narrative of John the Baptist’s humility before Jesus, Blakk Rasta implied that Sarkodie could have elevated his status by declining the collaboration, akin to John the Baptist’s acknowledgement of Jesus’ superiority.

He said, “Imagine Sarkodie had said no to this collaboration and it had come out that Sarkodie was supposed to be in a Bob Marley Song and Sarkodie said no he is not worthy of even lacing the shoes of this man like John The Baptist said about Jesus, his name would have been all over the place.”
