Davido sends message to his late son Ifeanyi one year after his death

Today, the 31st of October, marks a solemn milestone in the life of Nigerian music sensation Davido. It has been a full year since the untimely loss of his son, Ifeanyi.

On this day of remembrance, Davido took to his social media platform, Twitter, to convey a deeply emotional message as he reflects on the poignant one-year anniversary of his son’s tragic passing. In a touching and symbolic gesture, he shared an emoji of a flying bird.

The heart-wrenching tragedy that shook Davido and his family occurred in 2022 when young Ifeanyi reportedly drowned within the confines of Davido’s lavish Banana Island mansion. The distressing incident unfolded during a period when Davido and Chioma, his fiancée, were briefly away for an event. The couple’s return was met with the devastating news of their son’s passing. Despite immediate and desperate efforts to save him, Ifeanyi was ultimately declared deceased after being rushed to EvacCare Hospital.

In the months leading up to this sad first anniversary, significant life events have unfolded in Davido’s world. Just a few weeks ago, it was reported that Davido and Chioma had joyfully welcomed twins, a boy and a girl, into their lives. The initial announcement of this joyful addition to the family was met with a flood of congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers. However, what began as a time of celebration took an unexpected turn when a video emerged, showing Davido and Chioma tenderly cradling their newborns.

This video was shared by musician Samklef and led to a request from Davido to remove it from the public eye. When Samklef declined the request, tensions flared, giving rise to an online dispute between Davido and Samklef. The exchange escalated to the point where Davido chose to block Samklef on social media platforms. In the days that followed, Samklef has persistently sought to continue the dialogue with Davido, often taking to social media to express his sentiments.
