Eliminate Terrorists Completely From Their Hideouts, Buhari Tells Security Agencies
Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged security forces to “totally destroy” terrorists by going after their hideouts.

The president made this request during a celebration of World Humanitarian Day in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state.

Since the beginning of the Boko Haram insurgency, Borno has been the center of a severe humanitarian crisis.

In order to promote the growth of rural communities, Buhari, who praised the security personnel for their efforts, requested them to protect the safety of farmers.

“The men and officers of operation Lafiya Dole, security agencies and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), are very much appreciated for their commitment to the fight against insurgency,” he said.

“I commend their professionalism and tactical penetration to the hideout of the criminal elements, leading to appreciable improvement of the security situation in this north-east region, without which the resettlement of the IDP’s would not be possible.

“I, therefore, implore you not to relent in your efforts, continue to take the fight to their hideouts and ensure they are completely eliminated.”
