A total of 238 graduate applicants are expected to undergo screening on the first day of the Ghana Police Service recruitment exercise at Damongo Senior High School in the Savannah Region.
The Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP David K. Amoako, said the screening process, which includes document verification and physical assessment, is currently being conducted at a single centre.
Speaking in an interview with Channel One News, DCOP Amoako explained that the exercise is scheduled to run from Monday, January 12, to Thursday, January 15, 2026. He noted that three additional screening centres would be opened later in the week to ease pressure and ensure a smooth process.
He confirmed that all 238 graduate applicants were expected to be screened on the first day and reported that the exercise had so far proceeded without any challenges.
“So far, we have not faced any challenges with the process. Today marks the beginning of the exercise, and we are operating only one centre. Subsequently, we will open three more centres to bring the total to four.
“As of today, we are attending to graduate applicants only, and we expect 238 recruits to be screened. The exercise involves document verification to ascertain the authenticity of certificates as well as physical selection,” he said.
Some prospective applicants who spoke to the media commended the Ghana Police Service for the smooth and well-organised nature of the exercise, describing it as an improvement on recruitment processes in previous years.
