Evelyn Nsiah Asare’s life story is a powerful reflection of bravery, persistence and an unwavering commitment to succeed across multiple fields. Navigating both sports and academia, she has carved out a path marked by purpose, leadership and a determination to challenge conventional limits.

Her involvement in sports dates back to 2000 during her time as an undergraduate student. In an era where sports media and administration were predominantly male spaces, Evelyn stepped forward with boldness and clarity of purpose. She was guided by a firm conviction that women deserve equal representation and can excel in sports leadership just as much as their male counterparts.

With time, she established herself as a prominent personality within Ghana’s sports landscape, taking on roles as a journalist, presenter, communicator and administrator. Her historic achievement as the first woman to serve as Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana underscores her influence in reshaping leadership and breaking long-standing barriers in sports media.

Her professional media journey spans several well-known outlets such as Fox FM, Kapital Radio, Kessben FM, Metro FM and Trust TV. Through these platforms, she refined her craft, strengthened her voice and broadened her reach in sports journalism. She also credits seasoned broadcaster Sometymer Otuo-Acheampong for his mentorship, which played a significant role in her development.

Beyond broadcasting, Evelyn has made significant contributions to football administration and leadership. She currently serves as Special Assistant to the Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko SC and as the Chief Executive Officer of Hasaacas Ladies FC. Her involvement with national teams—including the Black Queens, Black Princesses and Black Maidens—alongside her dedication to youth sports development, reflects her deep commitment to the growth of the game. She also plays a role in sports governance as an Executive Board Member of the Badminton Association of Ghana, while contributing to academia as a lecturer and Head of Sports at Sunyani Technical University.

Despite her strong footprint in sports, Evelyn continued to pursue academic excellence. She advanced her studies in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, ultimately earning a PhD in the discipline. For her, education represents more than personal accomplishment—it is a means to generate solutions, enhance systems and contribute meaningfully to organisational success.

Her academic journey showcases remarkable focus and progression. Starting from a foundation in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports, she transitioned into Procurement Management, followed by an MBA and MPhil in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, before attaining her doctoral degree.

Today, as Dr. Evelyn Nsiah Asare, she stands as a symbol of what can be achieved through dedication and resilience. Her journey demonstrates that success is not confined to a single field—it can be pursued across disciplines, challenges and spaces once considered inaccessible to women.

Her advice to young women continues to inspire: they should boldly pursue opportunities, even in environments where they feel underrepresented. By stepping forward, leading with confidence and challenging outdated norms, they can drive change and create new possibilities for others.

Evelyn Nsiah Asare’s journey is more than a personal achievement—it is a story of influence, transformation and the courage to expand boundaries.
