Akwadum Community Improvement Project launched

As education, health and agriculture continue to play critical roles in Ghana’s economic growth and development, stakeholders are being urged to intensify efforts to strengthen these sectors.

It is against this backdrop that Giving World International, a non-governmental organization, has partnered with the Akwadum community in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region to support improvements in health, education and agriculture.

Under this improvement project, five hundred needy but brilliant students at Akwadum and its environs will be provided with learning materials throughout their basic education. That aside, the Akwadum Health Centre will also be provided with health equipment to help provide quality healthcare to the community members while cocoa farmers will also be equip with farm inputs to help expand their farms.

To seal this partnership agreement, health equipment such as weighing scale, thermometer, wheel chairs, amongst others have been donated to the Akwadum health facility during the launch of the project.

The farmers also received two knapsack spraying machines and other farm inputs while educational materials such as exercise and reading books, bags, Maths set have also been distributed to some of the needy pupils in four basic schools namely Akwadum M/A, Methodist, Presby and Islamic basic schools.

Hot meal and second-hand clothes have been given to the pupils present.

Addressing the event, the President of the Giving World International, Madam Priscilla Yeboah said the organization is birth to assist Children, Youth, and Women in need and working with communities to improve lives and promote gender equality.

She said similar projects will also be extended to other communities to help augment government’s effort to build the country. She admonished the Akwadum community members to support the project to yield a fruitful result.

The Physician Assistance of the Akwadum Health Centre, Madam Salim Salami who received the equipment on behalf of the facility thanked the organization for the gesture and urged them to visit them often to help develop the facility.

Giving World International is an organization with its vision to reach out to communities where children and care givers are empowered to improve their own livelihood through appropriate and affordable alternatives.
