Miss Intercontinental Ghana Sues Organisers After Title Withdrawal

Chiaky Otuteye

Miss Intercontinental Ghana 2025 winner, Chiaky Otuteye, has dragged pageant organisers, Cloudz Entertainment, to court after her crown was withdrawn weeks after she was crowned.

The case hearing started on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Chiaky, a medical doctor and professional model, recounted how she lost her title despite winning the pageant on November 8, 2025.

According to her, she received a call from the Vice President of Cloudz Entertainment asking her to attend an emergency meeting—and to bring her crown and sash.

“They emphasised that when I am coming I should bring my crown and sash. That was when I got fully suspicious,” she said. “Initially I was suspicious but then I felt there would be something fishy.”

At the meeting, she said she was shown email correspondence from the international pageant body indicating that they had received complaints claiming she did not meet certain standards.

“Apparently, the international organisation was saying that they had received some emails from some concerned people that I did not meet their standards for the international pageant. And based on this they had made a decision to disqualify me,” she explained.

Chiaky questioned the basis of the decision, arguing that the listed criteria — including poise, beauty, charm and intelligence — were subjective.

“The only objective ones were that they said one should be a natural born female which I am, you should also be fully a Ghanaian national. I am fully Ghanaian. I also met the body requirements,” she stated.

She further revealed that prior to the meeting, she had faced online trolling after a video of her, reportedly filmed by the event’s official blogger, was shared on social media. According to her, the comments mocked her appearance with harsh and unsavoury remarks.

In a press statement, Cloudz Entertainment announced that Chiaky would no longer represent Ghana at the 53rd Miss Intercontinental pageant held in Egypt from January 14 to 31, 2026, citing “unforeseen circumstances.” The organisers said a new queen had been appointed and would prepare “tirelessly to represent Ghana with pride and dignity.”

Cloudz Entertainment has yet to publicly respond to the allegations made by Chiaky during her interview.

The unfolding legal battle is now set to determine whether the dethroned queen will be vindicated — or whether the organisers’ decision will stand.
