The Nasara Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has condemned what it describes as divisive and inflammatory utterances by Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah.

In a press statement on Monday, the Wing expressed strong displeasure over allegations by the prophet that certain leading members of the party were planning to use members of the Nasara wing to attack his church.

The group described the allegation as false and distasteful, saying it was appalling for a man who parades himself as a man of God to sow division and hatred rather than peace.

According to the statement, Prophet Owusu Bempah is on a crusade to create divisions along religious and tribal lines, which is inconsistent with Ghana’s values of tolerance, unity and national cohesion.

The Nasara Wing said the allegation is a serious indictment of the Wing and what it stands for, which is unity in diversity and mobilization of settler communities into mainstream politics without regard to tribe or religion.

The Wing has therefore given Prophet Owusu Bempah an ultimatum to retract the allegation and render an unqualified apology to the Nasara Wing and the NPP, warning that failure to do so will compel them to explore all legitimate options to protect their image and integrity.

It further stressed that the Nasara Wing is not a Muslim wing as being portrayed, but a group for all settler communities including Christians and other religious groups.

The statement also called on the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the Christian Council of Ghana, the Catholic Bishops Conference and other ecumenical bodies to speak up and call the prophet to order, adding that no amount of propaganda will change the resolve of Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2028 general elections.
