Kenya Airways is seeking a double win at the 2026 World Travel Tech Awards after its digital platforms were nominated for two top African aviation technology categories.

In a post shared on its X account on Monday, August 17, 2026, the national carrier said its website and mobile application had been nominated for Africa’s Best Airline Website 2026 and Africa’s Best Airline App 2026.

“Our digital experience is up for two award nominations at the World Travel Tech Awards,” Kenya Airways said, urging customers and supporters to vote for the airline.

Kenya Airways seeks votes

The airline is calling on the public to support its bid as voting for the awards closes on August 21, 2026.

The nominations recognise the carrier’s efforts to enhance its digital experience and provide passengers with online platforms for accessing its services.

The awards also provide Kenya Airways with an opportunity to build on previous recognition for its service delivery across the continent.

Carrier builds on past award

The latest nominations come after Kenya Airways was recognised at the 2024 World Airline Awards for its service to passengers.

In June 2024, the national carrier won the Best Airline Staff Service in Africa award at the World Airline Awards held in London.

The recognition was attributed to the airline’s staff and their contribution to passenger service.

“This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication and exceptional service demonstrated by our team members each day,” former Kenya Airways chief executive Allan Kilavuka said after the award.

He said the recognition would motivate the airline to continue improving service delivery and passenger satisfaction.

Focus shifts to digital experience

The 2026 nominations shift the spotlight from Kenya Airways’ staff service to its digital platforms, reflecting the growing importance of technology in the aviation industry.

Airlines are increasingly investing in websites and mobile applications to enable passengers to search and book flights, manage travel arrangements and access services remotely.

For Kenya Airways, securing both awards would add to its growing list of international recognition while highlighting its efforts to strengthen the passenger experience through digital technology.

The carrier is now banking on public support to secure the two continental awards, with voting set to close on August 21.
