The Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has offered employment to two Nigerian returnees from South Africa currently residing at the church’s free estate in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

During a visit to the estate on Monday, Apostle Chinyere met with the returnees and learnt that one of them, Mrs. Ogechukwu Jecita Okafor, is a registered nurse who had been working at a hospital in South Africa before returning to Nigeria.

Announcing her employment, the cleric said qualified professionals among the returnees would be supported in securing jobs.

“Those of you who are specialists and were working in South Africa before returning to Nigeria will be assisted to secure employment. I am offering instant employment to the registered nurse at the OPM Free Specialist Hospital in Port Harcourt,” he said.

He also offered employment to another returnee, Mrs. Blessing Nwanna, who previously worked as a teacher in South Africa. She is to join the staff of the OPM Free School in Port Harcourt.

According to the church, the initiative is part of its efforts to support Nigerians who have returned from South Africa and are rebuilding their lives.

OPM said it has been providing accommodation and feeding for dozens of returnee families at its free estate in Port Harcourt, while their children have been enrolled on scholarship in the church’s schools.

Apostle Chinyere appealed to the Federal Government, state governments, international development partners, non-governmental organisations and private organisations to collaborate with the church in supporting displaced and vulnerable Nigerians.

The church also highlighted its humanitarian initiatives, which it said include free schools, specialist hospitals, housing estates, skills acquisition centres, a school for children with special needs, a girls’ technical college and scholarship programmes for underprivileged Nigerians.
