Anti-migrant protests are escalating across South Africa on June 30, the day of an unofficial deadline set by protest groups for undocumented migrants to leave the country. Demonstrations in cities like Johannesburg and Durban have led to business closures and growing fear among residents and migrants. Protesters accuse foreigners of driving crime, unemployment and pressure on services, demanding mass deportations. President Cyril Ramaphosa has condemned vigilantism, insisting immigration enforcement must remain with authorities.
