The leadership of the Ghana Hajj Agents Association (GHAA) has organised a special supplication session and recitation of the entire Holy Quran in Mina, Saudi Arabia, to seek Allah’s blessings for Ghana, peace in Bawku and the success of the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The spiritual exercise, which formed part of activities during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, brought together Ghanaian pilgrims, Islamic scholars and other stakeholders to pray for national peace, development and sporting excellence.
Leading the special prayers, Sheikh Mohammed Alhassan urged Ghanaians to use the sacred period of Hajj to remember their country and seek divine guidance, protection and blessings.
According to him, Ghana continues to enjoy peace and stability in many aspects of national life and therefore citizens must remain grateful to Allah for His countless blessings.
“This is the moment for us as Ghanaians to remember our nation and seek Allah’s guidance and protection. We must continue to thank Allah for the peace and tranquillity we are enjoying and pray for greater progress and unity,” he stated.
The Chairman of the Ghana Hajj Agents Association, Alhaji Faisal Ibrahim, said the special supplication was intended to seek Allah’s favour for Ghana, particularly for lasting peace in Bawku and success for the Black Stars as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
He noted that the prayers also covered Ghanaian politicians, business executives, students, Islamic scholars and professionals across various sectors of the economy.
“It is our duty and responsibility at this stage of the Hajj rituals to glorify Allah and pray for His immeasurable blessings upon our dear country Ghana, for peace in Bawku and for the success of the Black Stars and all sporting disciplines in the country,” he said.
The prayers also included the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG), led by Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, as well as other stakeholders involved in the organisation of Hajj in Ghana.
Participants prayed for continued cooperation among stakeholders and for the consolidation of the achievements recorded in the management of Hajj operations in the country.
The special supplication formed part of efforts by Ghanaian pilgrims in the Holy Land to seek divine intervention for national development, unity and progress.
