The Minifootball Association of Ghana has officially presented its national teams to the sporting public at a media engagement in Accra, where Suniel was unveiled as the official sponsor responsible for fully kitting the sides.
The event, held on Thursday, August 27, at the Ministry of Information, attracted key figures from Ghana’s sports sector, including National Sports Authority Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Minifootball Association President Bernard Paakow Ekumah, Secretary-General Emmanuel Anyetei Adjei, Suniel CEO Daniel Kotey Adjei, Ghana Police Sports Director ASP Bernice Rashidatu Abdulai Timbilla, and Handball Association President Nii Lante Bannerman. Members of the national women’s minifootball and handball teams were also in attendance.
The sponsorship arrangement is expected to give the teams a significant lift as they prepare for international assignments.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah welcomed the development, describing the backing from Suniel as a timely boost for Ghanaian sports.
“I am excited about this support. This is a great moral booster for our sports and the right direction to reset Ghana sports,” he said.
Daniel Kotey Adjei, whose company is behind the sponsorship, said the decision to support the national teams aligned with Suniel’s broader vision of creating opportunities for young people.
“I have been told this is the first time in the history of Ghana that a local Ghanaian company has fully equipped a national team,” he said. “We believe in giving opportunities to the youth, training and equipping them to compete internationally.”
Bernard Paakow Ekumah urged Ghanaians and corporate bodies to throw their weight behind the national teams as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
“This is a growing sport which we all have to pull along. Support us, and I know my team will not disappoint us. Wear your Ghana colours and support us,” he said.
ASP Bernice Rashidatu Abdulai Timbilla delivered a solidarity message on behalf of the Ghana Police Service.
“We stand together in solidarity to achieve greater heights. In our weakness, we stand together; in our strength, we stand together. The Ghana Police Service stands with you,” she said.
The event concluded with the presentation of official kits from Suniel to the Director-General, NSA Board Chairman Dr. Fred Awaah, the national men’s minifootball team, the women’s minifootball team and the women’s handball team.
